Nova Archival Print Washers

The washing of black & white prints is essential to remove both unused fixer and the complex silver/thiosulphate compounds produced during fixing - insufficient washing will lead to deterioration of the print.
The salts present in hard water act as a hypo clearing agent and increase the rate of removal of thiosulphates; hard water will therefore wash more quickly that soft water.
The use of hardening-fixers and typical 2-5 minute fixer times will result in longer wash times.
Using a pre-rinse or utilising a hypo clearing clearing agent (wash-aid) reduces wash time and water consumption.
The Nova Print Washers separate each print without cross contamination, with effective water flow rates down to 1.5 litres per minute.
Academy III Slot Separators Each slot separator has textured surfaces which prevent prints sticking to the slot sides and allows water to flow in vortex currents across both sides of the print An inlet valve and metering valve allows fine adjustment of the water flow rate. The washer will stay full when the water is turned off and then can be emptied through the drain valve.
